It’s been six years since crippling sanctions were placed on Russia. Ian Donegan asks if the country’s amusement industry is showing any signs of recovery.
A TIMELESS story-telling structure is the one where we start off with a prosperous and healthy land. Then an evil sorcerer casts a correspondingly evil spell on it, bringing the kingdom’s prosperity to an abrupt halt. Eventually, a hero comes along and kisses a princess or slays a dragon (the methodology varies) but the result is a happily ever after for everyone involved – bar the sorcerer.
In terms of productivity, Russia’s amusement market is currently in the middle phase – the spell’s been cast and there’s no clear sign of a hero on the horizon for the foreseeable future.
